Prof. Lahav’s Research Lab focuses on the multifaceted aspects of psychological trauma. As a clinical psychologist, her research goal is to promote treatment for trauma survivors, with emphasis on practices that integrate psychological and somatic aspects. During an in-depth conversation she will explore captivity trauma from various stressors such as torture, sexual abuse, deprivation and isolation.
Dr. Lahav will address the challenges for ex-hostages returning to normal life amidst destruction and loss, long-term impacts of trauma and combat stress, as well as the impact of secondary traumatisation on the family, leading to PTSD symptoms. She will also comment on the necessity for comprehensive mental health support to facilitate the reintegration of combat soldiers back to university student life.
